My name is Annabelle and I am the face behind Grain on the Go! I’m so glad you’ve found me, my journey, or my work and decided to check out my website!

For a little background – I am 26 years old and have traveled nearly full-time since becoming a full-time artist 4 years ago! I create digital illustrations about positivity and nature and share them with my community on Instagram.

I am originally from New York but spent the years before beginning to travel in New Orleans, Louisiana. New Orleans provided an endless source of artistic and creative inspiration, and the time I spent there during the beginning of the pandemic allowed me a lot of creative freedom to experiment with various art forms and styles. This led to the creation of Graphics and Grain, a creative brand, where I share vibrant illustrations with my audience and create similarly styled work for a variety of clients.

I love taking pictures on my phone and a rotation of point-and-shoot film cameras. I’ve recently rediscovered my love for movement and am starting to find a lot of excitement in running, practicing yoga, and – silly as it sounds – playing ping pong. I love to travel, of course, and find so much joy in walking around a new city, taking in a new landscape, or just trying something new. I feel so fortunate that I’m able to create on the go and love finding new sources of inspiration and motivation to express myself and my creativity as I meander and find myself in new places.

My work is heavily inspired by the outdoors and specifically by the mountains – two areas where I find so much joy and comfort. You’ll see lots of organic color palettes paired with natural imagery in my work! I also like to illustrate positive phrases and affirmations as a way to spread the same joy and comfort I get from nature to those who see my work.

Over the past three years as a full-time artist, I’ve been able to work with wonderful people and brands to bring their creative visions to life. I've worked with incredible companies and organizations such as Adobe, the Sierra Club, Anthropologie, and Bed Threads –among others! I also create a hefty amount of personal work and share those pieces on Instagram as frequently as I’m able.

I have also always been so inspired by photography, imagery, curation, light, and color. I always felt like I had an eye, or an instinct, or something, but in a world that was becoming increasingly digital and image-focused – I never felt good enough or qualified enough to call myself a ‘photographer’. But honestly… enough of that. It took me 3 years of making a full-time living from my art to call myself an artist. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.

Let’s skip that part and call it what it is, or what I hope it to be. I’m a photographer. And I’m about to set off on the journey of a lifetime, so you best believe I’m bringing my camera along, and taking pictures like I’m a professional. Because truly, who’s to tell me I’m not? I’m currently on the adventure of a lifetime – a journey to bike around the world, through all seven continents. Right now we’re focusing on the first big leg of the journey – cycling from Norway to South Africa. Once we get to Cape Town we’ll start worrying about the next continent and next phases.

So, that’s a little bit about me, what I’m about and what you can expect from me and all of my creative and athletic pursuits and the little online world I’ve created. Graphics and Grain and Grain on the Go, my two creative little brain children, can hopefully coexist, co-create, and collaborate, and show people how I view and take in the world, and hopefully inspire some people along the way to look at what they love and see how they can convey that to people.

I hope you enjoy what you see and learn something new about me! If you’d like to connect further, feel free to head over to my contact page or send me a message on Instagram! I’m so grateful for your support!
